About The Sandow Collection - How it Works

Welcome to the Sandow Collection of Antiques & Art. This is the story of the collection. 

    In the early 1960s, Len Sandow, a New York City artist and photographer, opened the "Yesterday Shop" in Mohegan Lake near Peekskill, NY . It was stocked with his private collection, beautiful treasures found at auction, and antiques from estate sales in the Hudson Valley. When he purchased property in the Catskill Mountains of New York, he relocated the store, and later opened the "Barn Full of Antiques" in Glen Wild, NY. 

    At the same time, Len was pursuing a career in art and advertising. Eventually a choice had to be made. In 1977 Len closed  the "Barn Full of Antiques" and kept his favorite pieces as a private collection. It is this collection that we are selling now. 

    How It Works

    We have researched all of the items in the collection to present an accurate representation of their history, condition, and fair market value. You may purchase any of the items at "Our Price" or "MAKE AN OFFER". We will be happy to answer any questions about the pieces, and we will reply to all reasonable offers.
